Sherman Oaks : Chamber to Honor Firms, Install Officers

The Sherman Oaks Chamber of Commerce will honor noteworthy companies and install new board members at a dinner-dance Jan. 26.

The Sherman Oaks Galleria and Westec Security Inc. will be award recipients at the chamber’s 48th annual dinner dance, to be held at the Sportsmen’s Lodge. The Galleria will receive the Corporation of the Year award for its many contributions to the chamber in 1995, including sponsoring the Sherman Oaks Street Fair and allowing the chamber to use the Galleria’s meeting room on a regular basis, according to Julie Russell, chamber executive director.

The Community Spirit Award will go to Westec Security Inc. for donating security services to the Sherman Oaks area, particularly to the street fair.

Also on the evening’s agenda will be the installation of the new board of directors. The new chamber president will be Judy Davis, an account executive for a dentist referral company, and the president-elect will be Carrie Konjoyan, owner of a property management company.

Other officers include Immediate Past President Barry Wegman, chief financial officer Kathy Holland; vice presidents Ron Mitnick, Phyllis Scher and Nancy Schmidt, and secretary Tina Asher. Ten other board members will also be installed at the event.

The event will begin at 6 p.m.
