Minnesota Viking linebacker Broderick Thomas was arrested near Houston on charges of driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a weapon, police said. He was jailed on the two misdemeanor charges, then released pending a future court date after paying $1,300 for bail. It is not the first brush with the law for Thomas, who was arrested in July for trying to conceal an unloaded pistol before boarding a plane. The Vikings said Thomas won’t return to the team next season. “This type of continuing behavior is totally unacceptable, and cannot be tolerated by the Vikings,” said Roger Headrick, team president.

Assault charges against Chris Warren of the Seattle Seahawks were dismissed. The running back was accused last summer of slapping a woman and twisting her arm outside a suburban nightclub after she refused to dance with him.
