Valleywide : Little Rain but Clouds, Fog Forecast for Week

The San Fernando Valley will have more clouds, morning fog and a slight chance of rain this week, the National Weather Service in Oxnard said Sunday.

“It’s going to be more of a normal week,” said Bruce Rockwell, a National Weather Service spokesman.

A high-pressure system hovering over the region blocked out cool ocean breezes and allowed warm Santa Ana winds to blow last week. But that system has moved off and clouds and fog from the ocean are returning.

The weather service is watching storm activity over the Pacific Ocean that might bring rain to California by Wednesday, Rockwell said. “But it’s going to stay north of your area,” Rockwell said. “Possibly, some will hit the mountain areas.”

The chances for rain in Los Angeles will increase later in the week, either Friday or Saturday, Rockwell said. Across the Valley today, highs will be mostly in the 70s, Rockwell said. Highs are expected to be 71 in Burbank and 69 in Northridge.
