Science Conference for Women Planned
Women airline pilots, rocket scientists and veterinarians will speak at a Thousand Oaks conference to help draw young women into science and math.
The Thousand Oaks branch of the American Assn. of University Women is sponsoring its fourth annual Math and Science Conference on Feb. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Newbury Park High School.
Participants at the conference--titled “Career Opportunities for Women in the Math and Science Fields”--will attend four of 22 workshops, all of which are taught by women working in mathematical and scientific fields. Instructors include an electrical engineer, rocket scientist, naturalist, veterinarian, pilot and dentist.
