Downey Financial Corp.: The Newport Beach parent company of Downey Savings & Loan Assn. said net income fell 10% in 1995 to $21.1 million, or $1.24 a share, from $23.5 million, or $1.39 a share, in 1994. Fourth-quarter profit rose 48% to $8.3 million, or 49 cents a share, from $5.6 million, or 33 cents a share, in the same period a year ago. Total assets as of Dec. 31 were $4.7 billion, unchanged from the year-earlier figure.
