South Bay : MOVING OUT

Share

The Department of Airports is moving into a 10-story building at Los Angeles International Airport in an effort to consolidate the department’s 12 locations while saving money.

Federal Express has leased the 140,000-square-foot office building on World Way West from the airport for about six years but plans to move. The Board of Airport Commissioners voted last week to move the department into the building in stages to improve airport operations.

The airport department has space in four terminals in addition to the control tower. It is expected to take several years to move all of the operations to the one building.
