One person eager to see the “lost” Jim Morrison writings is Ray Manzarek, the Doors keyboardist, who was unaware of the material’s existence before being told of it by Pop Eye.

Manzarek says that he’d need to see the documents before being certain of their authenticity, but once he’s convinced of that, he’ll be “very excited and can’t wait to read this. Unfortunately I’ll have to wait for some time.”

Read a few excerpts over the phone, though, Manzarek was surprised to hear about parts of Morrison’s life of which he had no knowledge, especially the plans of ending the relationship with Courson and officially marrying Kennealy-Morrison.

“[From this] he certainly had a different relationship with [Kennealy-Morrison] than I’m aware of,” he says. “But what their relationship was I don’t really know. . . . I guess it didn’t quite work out the way it was supposed to. What a tragedy.”
