Armed Man Wearing Halloween Mask Robs Gas Station
A man wearing a Halloween mask and wielding a handgun robbed a gas station in east Ventura Sunday night.
Around 8 p.m., the suspect--described as a 30-year-old Latino wearing a mask resembling the face of an old man--approached an attendant at the Unocal gas station at the intersection of Wells and Telegraph roads. According to Ventura police, the suspect pointed a small-caliber, chrome handgun at the attendant, forced him to open a cash register and took the money inside.
The suspect also took cash from the attendant’s wallet before fleeing on a bicycle, riding south on Wells.
No one was injured in the incident. Ventura police had made no arrests Sunday evening.
