An attorney practicing in Oxnard pleaded guilty Monday to one count of filing a false federal income tax return in 1990 for the 1989 tax year.

Kendall King Watson, 39, of Santa Barbara will be sentenced in U.S. District Court on April 22 and faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The Internal Revenue Service’s criminal investigation division in Oxnard investigated Watson’s records and found that he filed false income tax returns for the 1988, 1989 and 1990 tax years, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Spurgeon E. Smith.
