United, Attendants Reach Accord: Neither the airline, a subsidiary of Chicago-based UAL Corp., nor the Assn. of Flight Attendants, the union that represents 20,000 flight attendants, would release details of the contract, which still must be ratified by union members. However, they said the tentative accord had been approved by the labor committee of UAL’s board and the union’s Master Executive Council at United. If ratified, the contract will replace the current agreement. Flight attendants will vote on the pact in secret mail balloting that will not conclude until April, they said.
