Knight-Ridder, NBC Desktop to Share News: Knight-Ridder Financial Inc. said it will share editorial content on breaking news stories with NBC Desktop Video. The companies will also collaborate on coverage and produce joint releases for critical stories. The agreement will give the two news organizations access to each other’s editorial content. Knight-Ridder Financial, a unit of Miami-based Knight-Ridder Inc., provides news and business information. NBC Desktop Video, a video-based news service for the financial industry, offers full-motion video and multimedia services for desktop personal computers. It is owned by New York-based NBC, a unit of General Electric Co. Knight-Ridder stock fell 50 cents to $67.25; GE rose $1.125 to $79.50 on the New York Stock Exchange.
