Curtin Named Senior VP at Buena Vista Pictures

Terry Curtin has been named senior vice president of publicity for Buena Vista Pictures Marketing. Curtin will oversee all aspects of publicity for movies released by Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Hollywood Pictures. Curtin previously worked as senior vice president of worldwide publicity and field promotion for MGM/UA.

* Julie “Flash” Gordon, founder of America Online’s record industry gossip forum, is about to join the artist and repertoire division of Tom Zutaut’s Enclave label, a New York-based start-up launched six months ago by EMI Music. Gordon worked in music publishing and performance rights for six years before she founded the Velvet Rope, an online forum where industry insiders gossip about executive shake-ups and recording artists, in 1993. Gordon will continue to run the Velvet Rope from her new East Coast office.

* Randy Miller, executive vice president and general manager of MCA Records, is the latest casualty in the Universal City-based corporation’s executive shake-up. Miller’s exit from MCA this week follows the recent departure of former bosses Al Teller and Richard Palmese. Miller is expected to be replaced by Abbey Konowitch, who was forced out of Maverick Records three months ago.
