Fujitsu Sets Up U.S. Arm: The Japanese firm said it invested $50 million to create a U.S. operation to sell personal computers in the North American market, the world’s biggest. Fujitsu PC Corp., based in Milpitas, Calif., will concentrate on making laptop computers for traveling executives, with a line scheduled to be introduced this spring, the company said. Fujitsu Ltd. is Japan’s biggest computer maker and second in the world behind International Business Machines Corp. It is the latest Japanese electronics maker behind NEC Corp., Toshiba Corp. and Sony Corp., to make a foray into the world’s biggest PC market.
