Developers to Appear at Saturday Forum

Share

A Moorpark community forum has been scheduled Saturday on a hotly debated 3,221-home development planned on the east side of town.

The discussion will focus on the Hidden Creek development planned by the Messenger Investment Corp. of Irvine that has already sparked debate about growth in the city.

Messenger officials agreed to attend and answer questions from residents during the 2 1/2-hour discussion.

The idea for the forum came from City Council candidate Chris Evans, who said many residents are still confused by Messenger’s proposal. The large development could eventually bring 10,000 people to the city of 28,000.

“The more I learn about the project, the more questions I have,” Evans said. “I don’t mean that in a negative way--it’s just that it’s such a big project that there is a lot to learn.”

Hosted by Evans and Moorpark Chamber of Commerce President Jim Steuck, Saturday’s forum will begin at 1 p.m. at Moorpark Presbyterian Church, 13950 Peach Hill Road. For more information call 532-9099.
