From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The owners of a Cajun bar where employees denied entrance to a black U.S. prosecutor have agreed to drop their anti-black policies, authorities said. U.S. Atty. Mike Skinner said Lawrence and Ovey Patin, owners of La Poussiere bar in Breaux Bridge, La., signed agreements with the Justice Department to post signs at their club stating discrimination was not permitted. They must also teach employees about anti-discrimination laws, report to officials for three years and run newspaper advertisements stating that the club will no longer discriminate. Employees admitted that a Chicago prosecutor, Zaldwaynaka Scott, was barred last April because of race.
