Ice Dogs Get Victimized Again

Share

It was no secret to the Ice Dogs why Las Vegas beat them for the fourth time this season.

“I think we just got beat by a better team,” said defenseman and assistant coach Mark Hardy after the Thunder rolled to a 4-1 victory before an announced 1,968 at the Sports Arena on Friday night.

Las Vegas goalie Pokey Reddick shut out the Ice Dogs for 59 minutes and 32 seconds before Todd Gillingham scored. Reddick turned away 35 shots.

Ice Dog goalie Kay Whitmore played almost as well facing 37 shots, but without a great defense.

“Every goal they scored was a mistake--I thought Kay Whitmore stood on his head for us tonight . . . we just let him down,” Hardy said.

Sergei Zholtok scored twice for Las Vegas and Gordie Mark and Ken Quinney scored a goal apiece.
