8 Arrested, Property Seized in Anaheim

Authorities arrested eight people and seized about $1 million in stolen property in raids Saturday at warehouses here and in Los Angeles, officials said.

Investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol staked out a warehouse at 1135 Kraemer Place in Anaheim on Friday night and moved in about 8 a.m. Saturday when the suspects showed up to claim the property.

Items found inside the warehouse were valued at about $750,000, including 400 television sets, toys, computers, lamps, appliances and furniture.

The eight suspects, whose names were not released, were being held at the sheriff’s Norwalk station on $1 million bail each.

On Saturday, authorities served a search warrant in the 100 block of South Western Avenue in Los Angeles about 2:20 p.m. and found about $250,000 worth of stolen camcorders and designer denim jackets, officials said.
