Veterans Care

Re: “Injured Vets Need More Than a Band-Aid Station,” Jan. 21.

I am the wife of a vet and I think it is despicable that we do not have a V.A. Hospital with 24-hour care offered in the San Fernando Valley. The earthquake destroyed it, and we can’t seem to find the funds to repair it. We can rebuild other nations after disaster, or play peacekeeper to Bosnia, but we can’t seem to take care of our own at home.

We live in the Antelope Valley, and I think it is heartless to expect my husband or any of the men and women to transport to West Los Angeles. Aren’t they inconvenienced enough with all they do to keep us from harm’s way? Please take care of our vets properly, for they certainly protect us.
