Actor Samuel L. Jackson will host the 1996 Independent Spirit Awards March 23 on Santa Monica beach. Portions of the show will air on cable’s Bravo channel on March 25 during commercial breaks from ABC’s Oscar telecast. Jackson won last year’s Independent Spirit Award for best actor for “Pulp Fiction.” . . . Simpson case LAPD detectives Tom Lange and Philip Vannatter will be interviewed Thursday on CNN’S “Larry King Live,” where they will take calls from viewers worldwide. . . . An anonymous art lover has given Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum, which houses priceless paintings by Rembrandt, Vermeer and other Dutch masters, a donation of $4.3 million. The gift, the museum’s biggest ever from a single individual, carries just one stipulation--that it be used solely to buy works of art.
