A Santa Paula teenager suspected of robbing at least four local businesses at gunpoint was arrested at his home early Saturday morning, authorities said.

Martin Carrillo, 19, surrendered about 2:30 a.m. after the Ventura Police Department’s SWAT team surrounded his home, Ventura Lt. Steve Bowman said.

Although police found no guns in the home on the 500 block of Acacia Road, they discovered evidence linking Carrillo to several recent robberies, Bowman said.

The robberies occurred at Little Caesar’s Pizza restaurants in Oxnard and Ventura, a Subway sandwich shop in Ventura and a Payless Shoesource store in Ventura in the last two to three weeks, Bowman said.

In each case, a gunman walked into the store and robbed the cashier at gunpoint.

Carrillo was identified by robbery victims in a photo lineup, Bowman said.

He was taken to Ventura County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. He was booked on suspicion of four counts of armed robbery.
