From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A man caught in a nationwide FBI investigation of online child pornography has been given a five-year prison term for transmitting lewd photographs of children to other computer users. Under a plea agreement in December, John Delmarle agreed to a maximum sentence of 33 months for sending sexually explicit pictures of children through America Online, the nation’s largest computer network. However, a federal judge in Rochester opted to impose a longer sentence, citing the nature of Delmarle’s crime and previous pedophile convictions.
