Seth Ingraham Colver; Attorney, Former Mayor of Covina

Seth Ingraham Colver, 101, veteran attorney and former mayor of Covina. Born in Lewistown, Mont., Colver moved to Covina with his family in 1909. He studied law at USC and was admitted to the State Bar of California a year before graduating. Colver served as Covina city judge from 1922 to 1924, and mayor from 1940 to 1948 and again from 1962 to 1964. He was named Covina citizen of the year in 1966, after serving on the City Council and the boards of the Covina library and the Covina Inter-Community Hospital. He worked for 40 years as counsel to Title Insurance and Trust Co., retiring in 1959 as vice president and chief advisory title officer. Active in lawyers’ groups, Colver was a past president of the Pomona Valley Bar Assn. On Thursday in Redlands.
