Water District to Shut Down Pipeline Today
There may be a run on bottled water in some west Ventura area stores beginning this morning.
More than 100 residents around Foster Park will be without water beginning at 8 a.m. today because of improvements being made by the Casitas Municipal Water District.
“We’re going to shut down the main pipeline coming out of Casitas Dam,” plant supervisor Bob Monnier said. “We’re going to be installing a tie-in for the new water-treatment plant.”
Monnier said most of the 120 homes were sent letters detailing the stop in service. Notices also were hung on doors, he said.
“We’ve told them to be prepared for a loss of service for up to 48 hours,” he said. “But we’re going to do everything we can to keep it as short as possible.”
Most of the residents who will be affected by the stoppage live in the Foster Park community north of Ventura, and along Casitas Vista Road, just south of the reservoir, Monnier said.
