Annual Arts Festival Seeks Participants
The Thousand Oaks Arts Commission is looking for local artists to participate in its ninth annual arts festival.
The exhibit, which begins Memorial Day weekend and runs through Independence Day, will feature the work of a gamut of local artists--ranging from dancers to painters to performance artists.
This year, for the first time, the exhibit will be featured on a 30-minute public-access television program, to be aired at the same time as the festival.
“It is so people get a tease of what they are going to see when they go out to the various activities,” said Bonnie Roth, chairwoman of the commission.
Any artist or art organization is welcome to register for the event, Roth said.
“All they have to do is be a resident of Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park or Westlake Village,” Roth said. “The Arts Commission does this to highlight all the local arts in the area.”
