Diodes Inc. Earnings Increase 86% for Quarter

Earnings of Diodes Inc., a Westlake supplier of semiconductor products, increased 86% in the quarter ended Dec. 31 over the same period a year earlier. Profits more than doubled in all of 1995.
In its latest quarter, Diodes reported a profit of $1.3 million, or 25 cents a share, on sales of $14.1 million. This compared with a profit of $659,000, or 13 cents a share, on sales of $10.2 million a year earlier.
In the year ended Dec. 31, the company earned $4.7 million, or 90 cents a share, on sales of $58.2 million. This compared with a profit of $2.4 million, or 46 cents a share, on sales of $38.3 million in 1944.
David Lin, president and chief executive, said 1995 was Diodes’ best year by far. He credited alliances with key manufacturers for much of the improvement.
