Voice Powered Strikes Deal With South Korean Firm

Voice Powered Technology International Inc., based in Sherman Oaks, signed a five-year marketing deal with Hansol Electronics Inc., which is part of a multibillion-dollar South Korean company.

Hansol will pay Voice Powered $1 million plus royalties for the rights to manufacture and distribute in South Korea and China various voice-recognition consumer electronic products.

Voice Powered got its start by developing a device that can program a VCR using voice commands rather than typing in instructions manually.
