Bosnian Serb Gen. Djordje Djukic pleaded not guilty to charges relating to the siege of the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo, and said he had done nothing to warrant his appearance before the U.N. war crimes tribunal in The Hague. The court charged Djukic last week with assisting in the shelling of the capital during the siege from May 1992 to December 1995 in which more than 10,000 people are believed to have died. Djukic, a senior logistics officer in the Bosnian Serb army, was arrested by Bosnian government police Jan. 30 along with Bosnian Serb Col. Aleksa Krsmanovic.
