Noriega Seeks New Trial

MIAMI —
The Cali drug cartel paid a smuggler $1.25 million to testify against Panamanian Gen. Manuel A. Noriega at his cocaine smuggling trial, two informants testified Monday.
Noriega’s attorneys are seeking a new trial, charging that prosecutors knew about the payoff but kept it secret.
Noriega is serving a 40-year sentence for protecting Medellin cartel cocaine flights to the U.S.
