NEW DELHI —
A five-story apartment building collapsed in the western Indian city of Bombay on Thursday night, killing at least 10 people, police said today.
At least 10 others were injured, and rescue teams were searching for 20 people who might have been trapped, Bombay Fire Chief D.J. Kulkarni said.
Workers were replacing beams and columns on the ground and first floors of the building, which might have led to its collapse, said S.R. Dange, a city commissioner.
