Obituaries : Thomas G. Alvarado; Retired Foreman

Thomas G. Alvarado, a retired foreman for the Fillmore Lemon Assn., died Thursday after a lengthy illness.

He was 99.

Alvarado was born in Villa Aldama, Mexico, but was a resident of Ventura County for 50 years. Alvarado lived in Somis and was a member of El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church in Santa Paula for 45 years.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Alvarado, and sons Manuel of Bakersfield; Thomas of Fillmore; Samuel of Tucson, Ariz.; and daughters Evangeline Landazuri of Camarillo, Armida Womble of Midland, Texas; Rosie Clapper of Oxnard; and 33 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A service is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at Pierce Brothers Griffin Chapel in Camarillo, officiated by Rev. Jose Vindel. Burial will follow at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, also in Camarillo.
