Students at Oak Grove School in Ojai are staging a “Show and Sell” art exhibit to help raise money for a new art building.

“Each student has donated a work of art,” said Kristi Klein, development coordinator at the school. “All of our students take art classes.”

Along with the paintings and ceramics on display, the public will be invited to participate in silk, face and mural painting, frame making and clay modeling.

The private school, with grades kindergarten through 12, has already raised about $90,000 for the new building that will provide space for fine arts, ceramics, crafts and photography, Klein said.

Groundbreaking for the new building, expected to cost about $100,000, is scheduled for this spring.

“I hope we can raise at least $1,000 on Sunday, maybe more,” she said.

All 160 works of art will be offered at the same price--$10.

The show will be held at Oak Grove School, 220 W Lomita Ave., in Ojai between 1 and 3 p.m.
