The right tools can make all the difference when you’re working on your house.
Flow-Thru Finishers, brightly colored tools for caulking, smoothing and other such tasks, help do-it-yourselfers give their work a professional finish.
“The metal insert [included in the package] allows the finishing tools to fit on all caulking, industrial size or the standard size, even those not made for caulking guns,” says David Hanacek of Mission Viejo, creator of Flow-Thru Finishers.

In choosing the colors for the tools, Hanacek and his wife and co-owner, Amy, consulted the expert of the household, their 5-year-old son, John. He chose the bright colors, and they have been well-received by customers.
“Most hardware products are PVC black or white,” Hanacek says. “We wanted our product to have some eye appeal. Some of our customers have told us they bought our tools just because of the colors.”

It’s a Gem

The foot-high lamp ($30 plus shipping and handling) comes in ivory or black with a ceramic base and an acrylic top. Each lamp holds as many as 60 pairs of earrings. The posts of the earrings do not get hot from the light bulb because of the lamp’s patented design.

Designer Clint Stanley of Balboa Island came up with the idea after his two teenage daughters were always complaining about losing or misplacing their earrings.

“It appeals to anyone with pierced earrings. We’ve sold a lot of lamps to teenage girls. Now, their mothers and grandmothers are calling back to order one for themselves.”
