Construction Affects Westminster Traffic

Traffic on Westminster Avenue between Kerry and Dawson streets has been reduced to one lane in each direction because of construction.
The city this week began work on median islands, landscaping and the addition of high-strength concrete at bus stops along Westminster.
The project will be completed in the first week of May, according to city officials. During construction, the city will restrict parking in the area but will maintain access to businesses and neighborhoods. The $176,000 project is funded by a federal grant.
In a separate action, the City Council decided to make a system of temporary traffic barriers and detours along Trask Avenue permanent.
