Traveling in Style

In today’s Times, Traveling in Style magazine goes to some of those corners of the world that have been little visited in recent years because of history, politics or stubborn stereotypes. But things change. Today, travelers can roam through a Berlin without walls; sail the Mekong River in Laos, bringing back images of love, not war, and take a spin through Cairo’s ancient pyramids, perhaps as safe a trip as one can make in this part of the world. Closer to home, there are discoveries to be found on the unspoiled Hawaiian island of Molokai, site of Father Damien’s famous leper colony, and in Laughlin, Nev., where, contrary to some expectations, you can have a delightful day.
