Madonna Stalker Gets 10-Year Term

A homeless drifter who stalked Madonna and threatened to slash the pop star’s throat was sentenced to 10 years in prison Friday, court officials said.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Jacqueline Connor handed down the maximum sentence, saying she believed Robert Hoskins, 39, was “a continued danger” to society. Prosecutors had said Hoskins was obsessed with Madonna, who testified at his trial that she was still frightened of him.
Hoskins was convicted in January of one count of felony stalking, three of making terrorist threats and one of misdemeanor assault. He scaled the wall surrounding Madonna’s Hollywood Hills home last May, jumped into her pool and threatened to kill her if she did not marry him.
Her bodyguard shot Hoskins when he lunged at him and began choking him. He was treated for minor gunshot wounds.
In another episode, Hoskins told the bodyguard he would slit Madonna’s throat “from ear to ear.” He also threatened both the bodyguard and her personal assistant.
