Music Center Post: Andrea Van de Kamp has been named chairwoman of the Los Angeles Music Center’s board of governors, effective June 30. Van de Kamp, who heads West Coast operations for Sotheby’s auction house, takes over the volunteer Music Center post from Robert B. Egelston, former chairman of the Capital Group, who has been Music Center chairman since June 1993. Van de Kamp served as volunteer chairwoman of the Music Center’s Operating Company from 1992 to 1996 and has been a longtime member of the Music Center’s Blue Ribbon women’s support group. She is also chair of foundation giving for the Music Center Unified Fund. Prior to joining Sotheby’s, Van de Kamp held posts as president and chief executive officer of Independent Colleges of Southern California and as director of development for the Museum of Contemporary Art.
