Mary Stoshitch; Longtime School Principal
Mary “Molly” Stoshitch, 81, longtime Los Angeles elementary school principal. Born in Winnipeg, Canada, she moved to Los Angeles with her family when she was 6. She was graduated from Fremont High School and USC and in 1946 began her career as a teacher. In 1956 she was named vice principal of Hooper Avenue Elementary School and three years later became principal of Lockwood Avenue Elementary School, where she remained until her retirement in 1975. After her retirement to San Clemente, she became active in community work, frequently volunteering to supervise the city swimming pools there. On March 26 in Costa Mesa after a stroke.
