Library Birthday Theme of Fund-Raiser
For 90 cents, patrons may light one of the 90 candles on the library’s birthday cake. The candle-lighting, set for April 15, is the Fullerton Public Library Foundation’s latest campaign to raise money for a new building in the northeast part of town.
The foundation, formed in 1994 to support capital projects, has already brought in more than $120,000. It plans to pay $250,000 for a 2.4-acre vacant lot on Bastanchury Road and eventually build a library there.
In addition to the birthday cake, which will be displayed at the Main Branch library, 353 W. Commonwealth Ave., a free concert will be presented April 15.
