Volunteers / Helping hands : City Departments Seeking Volunteers
The city has launched a volunteer program involving virtually all of its departments and is seeking residents to participate.
The project aims to enhance city services by seeking volunteers to work as research analysts, code enforcement aides, City Hall librarians, translators or gardening assistants. The program was developed to maintain and improve services reduced or eliminated because of budget cuts and increasing workloads, said Steve Larson, the city’s personnel director.
