Officers Defuse Explosive Device; 2 Arrested
Police officers from Los Angeles and Ventura counties found and defused an explosive device Sunday afternoon at a Drayton Avenue residence.
Two men were arrested, but Los Angeles police refused to release their names Sunday evening.
The first arrest followed a domestic fight Sunday in Los Angeles County. According to police, a man threw an explosive device at a woman. The device exploded but was too weak to cause injuries.
Police arrested the man. As part of their investigation, they searched a home on Drayton Avenue at about 4:20 p.m. and found a second, unexploded device.
Ventura County sheriff’s deputies and the Los Angeles Police Department’s bomb squad defused the second device. A second man was arrested in Thousand Oaks.
The relationship between the two men was unclear Sunday evening.
