Brown to Be Buried at Arlington Cemetery
Commerce Secretary Ronald H. Brown will be buried Wednesday at Arlington National Cemetery, the White House said Monday.
Brown, who died Wednesday in an airplane crash near Dubrovnik, Croatia, along with 32 Americans and two Croatians, will be given a 19-gun salute at his burial, the appropriate military honor for a Cabinet secretary.
The White House said that Brown’s coffin will be received this morning at the Commerce Department, where it will remain with an honor guard for public viewing until Wednesday morning.
It will then be taken to Washington National Cathedral, where a funeral will be held at 1 p.m., and then to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
The White House also said that there will be a public ceremony to celebrate Brown’s life at 6:30 p.m. today at Washington’s Metropolitan Baptist Church.
