Cypress College’s 23rd annual duck pond race will be Thursday as part of High School Senior Day on campus.

The race involves members of college clubs and organizations who race on inner tubes across the pond, cheered on by their classmates and the high school visitors.

“This is the one campus activity that has become a constant,” said Dave Wassenaar, director of student activities. “It’s our most popular activity.”

High School Senior Day is an annual event at which the college hosts visitors from across Orange County. About 1,500 high school seniors are expected this year, college officials said.

In addition to the duck pond race, the high school students will be treated to a free lunch and live music.
