The Clippers and Prime Sports have agreed on a five-year contract worth more than $18 million, allowing the regional sports network to televise up to 45 games a season, beginning next season.

The Clippers have had periodic negotiations with Prime during the last 10 years but hadn’t been able to reach an agreement.

“I think both parties were ready to make a deal,” said Kitty Cohen, Prime Sports’ general manager.

The Clippers’ last cable deal was with SportsChannel Los Angeles, which went off the air four years ago.

The Clippers’ over-the-air television contract with Channel 13 expires at the end of the season, but team officials are working on a new deal with either Channel 13 or another independent station.

“We’re continuing to have talks with the Clippers,” said Rick Feldman, Channel 13’s station manager.
