Donna Karan Files for IPO: Donna Karan International Inc. filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering of common stock that is expected to yield proceeds of about $230 million, the New York-based clothing company said. The company did not disclose when it would make the initial offering nor the expected price and number of shares to be issued. The global offering will be made through lead managers Morgan Stanley & Co. and Bear Stearns & Co. If an option for additional stock for the underwriters is exercised in full, the company could receive $35 million more, Donna Karan said. The move marks the second time the company, one of the world’s leading fashion design houses, has announced it will go public. A stock offering planned for November 1993 was scrapped.
