Valleywide : More Warm Weather, Sunny Skies on Tap

Share

Good news for San Fernando Valley residents who enjoyed the weekend’s warm weather and sunshine. More is on the way.

“No rain in sight,” said Jay Stockton, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Oxnard.

“We’re not expecting much of anything, really,” Stockton said. “It’s going to be warming up, and it’s going to be mostly clear skies.”

The pleasant weather is being created by a high-pressure system moving into the area from the Pacific Ocean. High-pressure systems typically push out storm systems.

For today, high temperatures across the Valley will reach the mid-70s to low 80s. By the end of the week, highs will be mostly in the 80s. The only variation will be late-night and early-morning low clouds and fog starting Wednesday.

The nice weather marks a change from last week, when several storms passed through the region. So far, the region has had 12.42 inches of rain, about two inches shy of the normal seasonal total.
