Presidential Choices

Share

When I consider the names that will probably be on the ballot in November for our nation’s highest office, the future starts to dim. If there are any more men like Lincoln, Washington, or perhaps Truman in America today, please step forward. At a time when the U.S. desperately needs leadership, the ballot may offer only the saddest alternative, politicians.

The diminishing voter turnout could be an indicator that most people don’t like the choices or they have lost faith in the system. If voters were offered the power to veto all of the presidential candidates, perhaps we would see a greater turnout and leaders, instead of politicians, on the ballot. The choices for the nation’s highest office should be greater than the lesser of two or more evils. Let us put “veto power” on the ballot.
