Sebastian “Bob” Giuliano; Founder of Delicatessen Chain

Sebastian Robert “Bob” Giuliano, 64, founder of a chain of bakeries and delicatessens in the South Bay. After growing up in Massachusetts and serving in the Merchant Marine, Giuliano moved to Southern California in 1949. He transformed a small Gardena food shop into the Carson-based chain called Giuliano’s Delicatessen & Bakery. The bakery has provided wholesale specialty breads to Southern California retail stores since 1952. As a community volunteer, Giuliano served as president of the Gardena Kiwanis Club and the Gardena Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of the Los Angeles County Highway and Safety Commission. On Sunday in Palos Verdes Estates.
