PLYMOUTH--Sample creations of more than 30 wineries from the Sierra foothills counties at the 1996 Sierra Showcase of Wine. The 14th annual tasting is 2-4:30 p.m. May 4 at the Amador County Fairgrounds. Also featured: an art show, live music, food and a silent auction of wines. VICTORVILLE--The “100 Years of the Automobile” celebration is all day May 4 at the California Route 66 Museum (6th and D streets), and on 6th and 8th streets, between Forest and D streets. ORANGE--Historic Old Towne Plaza is the setting for the second annual Gogh Van Orange Art and Music Festival, May 4-5. SANTA BARBARA--The 10th annual Santa Barbara Jewish Festival brings traditional music, dance, food and more to Oak Park, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. May 5. The free celebration features the Ventura Klezmer Band, Israeli folk dance instruction, kugel, knishes and other food favorites, arts and crafts, information booths and a book sale. VENTURA--Concerts staged in historic downtown locations fill the slate of the second annual Ventura Chamber Music Festival, May 7-12. The works of Franz Schubert and others are presented in 16 concerts. Among the performers are the Colorado String Quartet and pianist Eduardus Halim. Most concerts include complimentary receptions.
