CALICO--Bluegrass music is the centerpiece of the 23rd annual Spring Festival, May 10-12, at venues along Main Street. Fiddle, banjo, guitar and band competitions and concerts; clogging contests; old-fashioned games and more are featured 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday; and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. $6 per day, general; $4, kids 6-15; free for those under 6. SANTA BARBARA--Pageantry, parades and puppetry are among the offerings at the Mediaeval Mayfaire Theaterfest, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. May 11-12. THOUSAND OAKS--Another Mother’s Day option: Works in a variety of media are showcased at the Thousand Oaks Fine Arts Festival, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. May 11-12. HEALDSBURG--Sample the wine from more than 40 wineries at the 25th annual Russian River Wine Festival, noon-5 p.m. May 18. Held in the historic downtown Healdsburg Plaza, the festival also offers local cuisine, live music and arts and crafts. $15 for a wine glass and five taste tickets; additional tickets are 50 cents each.
