Detectives Seek Help in Finding Missing Woman

Share

Ventura police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 35-year-old Ventura woman who disappeared Monday from the parking lot of a Target store at 4200 E. Main St.

Sherri Rene Dally, who had been shopping alone at the store for about 45 minutes, was last seen about 9:30 a.m. entering the rear seat of a blue-green, mid-size vehicle.

Dally had left the store with her purchases and walked to her 1984 Dodge Ram van when the blue-green car pulled up behind the van, blocking it in place, Ventura police said.

A woman, the sole occupant of the vehicle, approached Dally, who was sitting in her van, and talked with her for a few minutes, witnesses told police.

Dally then got out of the van and into the blue-green car, police said.

The unknown woman drove the car south through the parking lot and left the area, police said.

The woman is described as white, with short blond hair, between 35 and 40 years old and weighing 120 to 130 pounds. She was wearing a tan pants suit with a scarf around her neck.

Dally, who is married and the mother of two young boys, has not been seen nor heard from since Monday morning, police said.

Police found Dally’s 15-passenger van in the parking lot between McDonald’s and Target where Dally, who runs a day-care center in her home, had parked it Monday morning.

Some of Dally’s keys and a just-purchased Mother’s Day present were still in the unlocked van.

Dally is described as white, with shoulder-length blond hair, about 5 feet 7 and weighing 130 pounds.

She has blue eyes and a dark tan complexion and was last seen wearing a white top and black shorts.

Friends described Dally as dependable and said it would be unusual for her not to tell someone where she was going.

Dally had just dropped off her sons at school and was to go home to wait for her day-care children to arrive, friends said.

Friends and family have been distributing posters with her photo at area businesses.

Anyone who was in the area of Target or Michaels Shopping Center or who saw anything unusual is asked to contact the Ventura Police Department.

Anyone with information should call Sgt. George Morris at 339-4474, Lt. Don Arth at 339-4406 or the watch commander at 339-4416.
